Skool4Kidz Campus @ Sengkang Riverside Park has won the prestigious International Architecture Awards 2019. This award is presented by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, and Metropolitan Arts Press.
Selected from a shortlist of 350 projects from 41 countries, Skool4Kidz won in the Community Centres category. Shortlisted projects were judged against criteria including design vision, innovation and originality, capacity to stimulate, engage and delight occupants and visitors, accessibility and sustainability.
Skool4Kidz Campus @ Sengkang Riverside Park is the first and only project in Singapore that integrates an entire preschool facility in a public park. Designed as a learning cocoon by Freight Architects, and in collaboration NParks and Early Childhood Development Agency, the building is a seamless extension of the Sengkang Riverside Park.
The campus features a “living’’ roof and openings specially created to maximize natural daylight and cross ventilation. The mix of indoors and outdoors encourage a richer learning environment for our little pre-schoolers.
