Some 280 Skool4Kidz graduates from 15 centres marked the completion of their preschool journey on 18 October 2019. The concert was a colourful and expressive concert held at the Singapore Conference Hall.
As this year marks Singapore’s Bicentennial, Skool4Kidz chose the theme ‘We are Singapore: The future begins with us’. The concert was designed to help our Kindergarten 2 children appreciate that they are Singapore’s future. It is important that they embrace diversity and help make positive contributions to the nation.
The programme brought the audience back in time to revisit some past significant events in Singapore up to present day. “Through these performances, our children had the opportunity to reflect upon and appreciate the uniqueness and culture of our little red dot,” shared Ms Christina Pardiwalla, our Concert Committee Co-chairperson.
The uplifting performances includes a Malay group choral rendition of ‘Once Upon a Fishing Village’ and a Chinese rap of ‘The story of Nian’. It also included a festive dance to the ‘Colours of Holi’, an Indian skit on ‘Pongalo Pongal’ and the Eurasian dance called ‘Jinkli Nona’.
Our young ones also learned to care for others who are less fortune through fund-raising in aid of the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF). Inspired by one of our children who fell victim to cancer, the concert raised a total of $20,789 to promote the awareness of childhood cancer and to show support to children with cancer that they are not alone in their fight towards health.
