At the start of the second week of reopening after the Circuit Breaker (8th June 2020), Associate Professor Dr Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim visited Skool4Kidz’s Campus at Yishun to observe how enhanced precautionary measures have been implemented. Dr Muhammad Faishal is the Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Social & Family Development and Ministry of Education, and also the Member of Parliament for Yishun Group Representation Constituency (GRC).

Dr Muhammad Faishal was received by Skool4Kidz’ Director and Curriculum Founder, Dr Jane Ching-Kwan and Executive Director, Mr Robert Leong. Upon arrival at the campus, he went through all the mandatory clearance requirements. This included using SafeEntry at the gate, washing his hands and stepping onto a ‘sanitisation’ mat to disinfect the soles of his shoes. He also made a travel declaration, had his temperature taken with a contactless thermometer, and registered his visit with the school’s digital visitors’ SMART log.
Contactless attendance taking and temperature check before entering school is a way of life at Skool4Kidz.
Dr Muhammad Faishal observed the Safe Measures the children undergo to ensure their wellbeing from the moment they arrive at our centre. Besides mandatory cleaning and disinfecting of the premises and facilities, various COVID-Safe arrangements were put in place as well. It is mandatory for children to wear masks or face shields during the day. Strict safe distancing measures have also been put in place.
Dr Muhammad Faishal visited classrooms to observe how daily lessons were carried out, with COVID-Safe measures in place. To reduce risk of transmission, teachers care for only one class a day and all activities are held in the same classroom. Lessons are held in smaller group settings and children remain within their own classrooms.
Safe distancing measures are practised stringently. The cross-sharing of materials such as stationery is disallowed and dividers are also used on shared desks.

At the end of the visit, Dr Muhammad Faishal was invited to join a Kindergarten 2 class’ COVID-Safe ABCs jingle performance and view how Skool4Kidz teachers carried out Home-Based Learning for children during the Circuit Breaker.
