Skool4Kidz children at Yishun Orchid Spring having fun creating their works of art. The pieces were later sold at the centre’s charity art exhibition, to raise a total of $4,000 for Singapore Children’s Society.

They were among 350 children from eight Skool4Kidz preschool centres in Marsiling, Woodlands, Punggol, Yishun, Bedok Chai Chee and Tampines who spent time doing their part for charity.

The little Picassos, Da Vincis and Van Goghs from Nursery to Kindergarten level spent one day to put their heart and soul into their art work. Guided by their teachers and imaginations, they carefully applied shapes and colours onto paper to create impressive art pieces in the name of charity. Touched by their children who had worked so hard for this good cause, the parents willingly bid and bought $4,000 worth of art pieces that were placed on sale.

This is just one of several efforts by Skool4Kidz and its children to support programmes by the Children’s Society for children and families in need.

This year, Skool4Kidz has donated a total of $17,000 to Children’s Society under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. It had earlier contributed $12,000 towards Children’s Society’s annual Walk for Our Children event held at Chinese Garden on 30 July. Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) and Second Minister for Defence, was present as the Guest-of-Honour.

Skool4Kidz has also supported Children’s Society’s 1000 Enterprises for Children-in-Need with a $2,000 donation for its various programmes.

More importantly, Skool4Kidz has been supporting Children’s Society’s ongoing Pre-school Education Outreach and Casework Programme for children aged between 3 and 6 who are currently not enrolled in any preschool centres. Skool4Kidz has donated $3,000 to help defray some of the expenses for schooling essentials, such as uniforms and educational materials, as well as for logistical and transportation requirements. This programme helps provide children the opportunity to go through early education, to prepare them for formal schooling.

Skool4Kidz will continue to support Singapore Children’s Society’s programmes to help as many children as possible.
