Two professors from Taiwan share their expertise on inclusion practices.

Some 650 SKool4Kidz staff recently attended Crestar Education Group’s Professional Development training day to learn more about inclusion practices in the preschool environment.

The major upskilling exercise held on 12 July 2024 at Singapore Expo was part of the Group’s continuing effort to shape a culture that fully embraces inclusion in all its four preschool brands, including Elfa, Kinderland and NurtureStars.

Altogether over 1,300 educators and staff attended the day-long event organised by KLC International Institute (KLCII).

It was held at the Singapore Expo on 12 July 2024 with the theme “Strengthening Educators’ Efficacy in the New Landscape!”. The programme featured two professors with expertise in special education from Taiwan conducting two key workshops on behavioural challenges and inclusion in the classroom.

In another important workshop, Ms Heidi Chong, Skool4Kidz’s Head of Early Intervention, shared experiential activities with her colleagues. In her session on “Understanding and Supporting Children Who Require Early Intervention”, the attendees experienced for themselves the everyday difficulties and challenges faced by children who require early intervention so that they could confidently implement strategies to support them.

The educators also learned how they should incorporate the ECDA Code of Ethics in their work effectively in a session facilitated by a team of KLCII lecturers.

The full-day training programme also included workshops on workplace health and safety, security and incident response, as well as nutrition and food hygiene for operation staff. They were designed to upskill the staff to be more relevant in the ever-evolving preschool landscape.
