For the second consecutive year, our young coders have won the coveted Star Award in the global MatataWorld Robotics Competition (MWRC) 2022.
Skool4Kidz preschoolers from Campus @ Sengkang Riverside Park brought home the ‘Matatalab Coding Star Award’ from the MWRC 2022 Online Finals. This is an outstanding follow-up to the success of Skool4Kidz Preschool @ Yishun Oleander Breeze. Their preschoolers won the ‘Matatalab Creative Star Year Award’ and was placed second overall in 2021.
A Robotic Tour of Singapore
The theme for 2022 was “Exploration for a Beautiful Life”. Children had to use handicraft to create an adventure map, plan and program a route for the Matatalab robot to explore.
Participants were judged on design, task completion and solution optimisation. More than 90 teams from seven countries took part and every team had to give a unique interpretation for their design and programming.
Our SKC Explorers won praise for using coding blocks and creative artwork to design various tourist attractions in Singapore, including their own campus.
Developing Next-Generation Talent
MWRC is a global competition that encourages problem-solving and collaboration through fun and challenging coding activities, building confidence in science and technology. Future-ready digital skills are a core part of our curriculum, as we prepare our children for success in the 21st century. Communication, critical thinking and exploration are essential life skills and will help our children develop a healthy interest in emerging and relevant topics.
We are so proud of our SKC Explorers and delighted to see the impact that technology-based activities can have on our children’s’ confidence and ability.
Congratulations to the little ones and their educators!
