For the second time, the Skool4Kidz Care Fund has purchased Minister of State (MOS) Sun Xueling’s book to donate to its preschoolers. 500 copies of ‘What Ants Do On Stormy Days’ will be distributed to all children graduating Kindergarten 2 this year.
MOS Sun, the Minister of State for Education and Social & Family Development, published her second book last year as a follow-up to ‘What Ants Do On Rainy Days’.
The story follows the ants on their journey down the river and settling into their beautiful new home, before a heavy downpour threatens to wash them away. By working together and staying resilient, the ants overcome the danger.
MOS Sun visited Skool4Kidz Preschool @ Punggol Waterway Cascadia on 17th February 2023 and signed a copy of her new book to mark Skool4Kidz Care Fund’s book donation.
The Kindergarten 2 class were delighted to have MOS Sun give a reading of the Chinese version of the book. Her sustainable reading session was accompanied by Senior Educator Ms Pamela, who used props made out of household items to help visualise the story.
The Skool4Kidz Care Fund is the community social outreach and corporate social responsibility arm of Skool4Kidz Preschools. Since 2017, about 10,000 local story books has been purchased by Skool4Kidz Care Fund and given away to all preschoolers in Singapore including little ones in our care.
“We are delighted to support the social and cognitive development of preschoolers through reading. It encourages creativity, critical thinking and the mental well-being of children. In line with the theme of the book, we truly hope the little ones stay resilient and look out for one another always,” espouses Teri Teo, Head of Skool4Kidz Care Fund.
