Skool4Kidz was thrilled to join the grand opening of One Punggol on 8th September! Our booth buzzed with excitement as preschoolers and elders from St Luke’s ElderCare, located within the same integrated lifestyle hub, came together for a meaningful intergenerational programme. Through engaging Bee-Bot coding activities, both children and elderly explored the joys of learning together, highlighting the incredible bonds that can form across generations.
At Skool4Kidz, we believe that learning extends beyond the classroom. Our intergenerational programmes provide countless benefits to both preschoolers and the elderly. For our preschoolers, interacting with seniors enhances their social and emotional development. By collaborating with older adults, children learn valuable lessons in empathy, patience and respect for the elderly. These meaningful interactions help build their communication skills and foster a sense of responsibility and compassion towards others.
For the elderly, participating in activities with young children brings joy, purpose and mental stimulation. The shared experiences in coding and play spark positive memories, while keeping their minds active and engaged. Our intergenerational programme is more than just fun – it promotes lifelong learning, emotional growth and builds bridges between generations. The bonds formed during these activities help combat loneliness and provide a renewed sense of belonging and connection for the elderly.
The day became even more special with the visit of PM Lawrence Wong! His presence made the occasion truly unforgettable for our children, elders and educators.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who visited our booth and joined in the fun, creating lasting memories of joy, learning and connection.
