Skool4Kidz preschools ushered in the Year of the Snake with joyous celebrations filled with culture, tradition and fun! Children, parents and educators came together to experience the festivities through numerous engaging activities.
The little ones delighted in storytelling sessions that introduced them to the legend of the zodiac animals and the significance of Chinese New Year. Many participated in hands-on activities such as calligraphy, crafting festive decorations and playing traditional games. The excitement peaked with mesmerising lion and dragon dance performances, accompanied by rhythmic drumming and sing-along sessions featuring popular Chinese New Year songs.
Parents joined the celebrations, bonding with their children through interactive stations showcasing Chinese heritage. These included simulated tea ceremonies, gallery walks displaying traditional attire and even dumpling-making sessions. Special performances by our K2 children wowed the audience, highlighting their learning and appreciation of festive traditions. Some centres also organised lohei sessions, where staff and children joyfully tossed prosperity salad for good fortune.
The celebration was even sweeter with festive treats such as mandarin oranges and traditional snacks. Families enjoyed engaging games, fun skits and even friendly competitions like peeling oranges at lightning speed!
Through these vibrant festivities, children not only had fantastic fun but also gained a deeper understanding of Chinese culture. Here’s to a year of prosperity, joy and togetherness!
