In August, three of our educators attended a #ServingSG appreciation event for selected early preschool educators organized by President Halimah Yacob.

President Halimah Yacob hosted a tea reception with 32 educators from various childcare centres.

President Yacob mingled with the guests and praised them in her speech for their dedication and commitment to overcoming the challenges of the pandemic. The educators were also given a guided tour of the Istana gardens.

Spotlight on Ms Syaza

Local newspaper Berita Harian interviewed Ms. Syaza, Vice Principal (VP) of Skool4Kidz Campus @ Sengkang Riverside Park.

Ms Syaza has always enjoyed working with small children, starting in the early childhood sector as an educator’s assistant. Since then, she has looked forward to teaching and being part of her little one’s learning process every day. She shared that while she was pregnant during the COVID19 pandemic, she prioritises the needs of her preschoolers and colleagues.

“During maternity leave, I involved myself in the planning and activities of my preschool. I listed myself in the early shift to ensure other educators comply with safety protocols,” said Ms. Syaza. “The joy and curiosity that my children display is priceless – and beneficial to me,” she enthused.

We are grateful for the opportunity to attend the appreciation event and honoured by the recognition from President Yacob. Thank you, Madam President!

It was a meaningful and rewarding experience for our educators.
