300 Skool4Kidz children from Campus @ Sengkang Riverside Park, Preschool @ Sengkang Anchorvale Crescent, Punggol Waterway Banks and Waterway Cascadia decorated 1,047 Yakult cultured milk bottles to make a giant wind chime, setting a Singapore Books of Record!
This feat was performed in conjunction with Preschool Market’s Earth Week Carnival on 19 April 2018. Together with the folks from Preschool Market, the bottles were stringed together and put up for exhibition at the Punggol Town Square, situated next to Punggol Waterway Point.
As part of our Home-Skool Connector project (a special programme developed by Skool4Kidz to involve parents in their children’s learning, empowering them as first teachers), our children and parents joined hands to make transportation of all sorts, using only cardboards and recyclables. Our children and teachers created a Cardboard Town and even made a replica of our Skool4Kidz Campus @ Sengkang Riverside Park!
Throughout the 3-day event, 1,040 children from various preschools in Sengkang-Punggol cluster took part in the carnival where they learned good recycling and upcycling habits through the different hands-on activities provided by the event partners.
Of the encouraging turnout and the Singapore Book of Records title, our Guest-of-Honour, Mr Robert Leong, President of Association of Early Childhood and Training Services (ASSETS) and Director of Skool4Kidz Preschool reminded the children why it is important that we all do our part in keeping the earth clean and green.
Our event partner from Preschool Market, Ms Ding Zhen Xin said “The Earth Week Carnival was fun and a great success with the support of our community partners. We hope that the children have all gained deeper love for Earth and all we enjoy from it!”
